World-famous pianist Lang Lang joined the Hublot family as an ambassador back in 2015, and this year, the pianist is collaborating with the brand to design two models of classic watches inspired by musical scores.
The watches contain a meaningful concept behind their manufacturing which leads one to constantly probe and challenge the innovative. The teaming up between Lang Lang and Hublot seeks to combine both musical scores with the functions of a classical wristwatch, bringing the design into a whole new platform that boasts the ‘wow’ factor. Lang Lang doesn’t just want to be a pianist, but a figure that becomes an inspiration for the next generation.
The Hublot limited edition watches take on a black and gold appearance for a mysterious appeal. There are only 88 pieces of Classic Fusion Ceramic Ultra Thin Lang Lang available on the market, while only 8 pieces of the Classic Fusion Tourbillon Cathedral Minute Repeater Carbon Lang Lang are available, making it a very limited collectible indeed!
The 8.15 mm Classic Fusion Ceramic Ultra Thin Lang Lang ois a 45mm black porcelain wristwatch, with a golden musical note at 12 o’clock, Lang Lang’s signature at 3 o’clock, and a small second hand at 7’o clock. The case, dial and strap take on a black design while the indexes, hands, and the crown are highlighted in gold and the strap is embossed with musical score elements. Turning over the timepiece would reveal the sapphire crystal back clearly showcases the clockwork.
The Classic Fusion Tourbillon Cathedral Minute Repeater Carbon Lang Lang features a 45.5mm case and a 14.25 mm thickness. The watch sounds the hours and minutes with the sound of a cathedral double gong. The timepiece is water resistant up to 30 meters and has a power reserve of up to 85 hours. The complex design of this timepiece is enhanced with musical notes adorning the 3, 9 and 12 o’clock respectively. The overall design of the timepiece is fascinating and masculine, with a back which clearly displays the clockwork and the tourbillion. The back of the case also boasts Lang Lang’s signature in Chinese characters.
