Q: How did you get started in this industry?

A: I used to work in the corporate sector in management. After 2 years into the job, I felt that it was unsuitable for me and I happened to land myself a job in the media industry. After a while, I came to realize that fashion styling is my calling. From being a fashion editor, to fashion stylist, to fashion director, I’ve been in this industry for almost 20 years now.

Q: What was the biggest challenge for your career?

A: Sometimes, the most difficult thing can be dealing with people. In different situations and in different circumstances, we need to have proper communication with people in order to be able to work together well. No matter how good we are or how confident we are, we are still very reliant on others to succeed.

Q: How do you define a perfect style?

A: To me, a perfect style must suit the person’s personality. It is not for me to impose onto others what I think is perfect without first considering the person’s character and personality. Often, some little details or accessories can help shape the overall style of a person too.

Q: What is your definition of success?

A: Success cannot be defined by just looking at one aspect, we must consider many different aspects. For now, to not compare myself with others is in itself a great success. I consider having a peace of mind in our daily lives a success too as it is important for our emotional wellbeing.

Q: What is your life motto?

A: To maintain a positive attitude. To do whatever your passion takes you and even if you fail, it is alright because you have tried your best.

Q: What is your expectation for a good life?

A: It’s easy, to have a good life, we must not be materialistic. We just need what is necessary to live.

Q: What gave you your biggest sense of fulfilment?

A: My biggest sense of fulfilment was being able to step out of my comfort zone.
